How to Start a Blog Step-by-Step:
STEP ONE:
Choose a Domain Name & Web Hosting for Your Website:
Get a domain name and hosting in Bluehost.
Check below and see if your domain name is available:
To improve Blog's credibility, register your domain name for at least 2 years or 5 years if your budget allows.
If you have a WordPress website, then use web hosting specialized for WordPress.

What kind of domain name should I pick?
As an easy starting point:
If you are starting a blog, buy a domain name with the main keyword in it.
If you are making a website for your business, your domain name should match your company name. For example: YourCompanyName.com
If you’re planning to set up a website for yourself, then YourName.com can be a great option.
Also decide if you want a secure website, or an unsecure website. A secure website has “https://” at the beginning of the web address.
Secure websites rank higher because it protects the user's information making the website “user friendly.
STEP TWO:

- Log in to your hosting account.
- Go to your control panel.
- Look for the “WordPress” icon.
- Choose the domain where you want to install your website.
- Click the “Install Now” button and you should get access to your NEW WordPress website.
- Choosing a Theme/Template for your site:
a) Log into your WordPress dashboard
If you’re not sure how, type in: http://yoursite.com/wp-admin (replace “yoursite” with your domain).
b) Access FREE themes
Once you’re in the dashboard, you’ve got access to over 1500 free themes! Just look along the side bar for “Appearance”, then click “Themes”.

If you want your new page to be linked to in your navigation bar:
a) Save any changes you’ve made to the page by clicking “Update”
b) Click “Appearance” --- “Menus” in the sidebar of the WordPress Dashboard
c) Find the page you created and add it to the list by clicking the checkbox next to it and then “Add to Menu”.
- Adding and editing posts:
If you have a blog on your website, “Posts” will be where you turn to next. You can use different categories to group similar posts.
a) Create a new category by going to “Posts -- Categories”.

b) Create a blog post by going to “Posts -- Add New”. Once you’ve finished writing your blog post blog post is ready, you need to add the right category for it.

I have other websites, which are professional, hosted on wordpress. But I recommend that you have a blogspot blog, plus a professional blog. The problem of having blog in blogspot is that the blog is not really yours. At any time Google can remove your blogspot blog, or end the free service of blogger.com.
So always have a blog with your own domain and professional hosting. If possible, always have more than one blog with different niches and services, so you can make more money online.
